You are probably wanting to know where I am coming from. First and foremost, I am a Christian. When I make this claim, there is more depth than just what you see on the surface. I believe that the Bible is inspired by God himself, and I take it to be truth.

2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”

God the Father

He is the creator of heaven and earth, and exists in perfect union with the Son and the Holy Spirit1. He makes and purposes everything for His glory, and desires to walk intimately with his people. His plan for the redemption of our sinful nature was made manifest by sending His son, Jesus Christ, into the world to be an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

God the Son

He exists eternally with the Father and the Holy Spirit1. Jesus came down from heaven2 and was born of the virgin Mary3. He was tempted in every way, yet lived a sinless life4, proclaiming and demonstrating that He was the son of God5, and was acknowledged by God that He was His son6. He was sent to be a sacrifice for the sins of the world7, that whoever puts their faith in Him are granted eternal life8.

God the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit exists eternally with the Father and the Son1, and resides in any person whom calls on the name of Christ for salvation2. He gives life2, encourages, inspires and teaches3, convicts of sin4, and even prays for us on our behalf to the Father5.

Salvation

There is nothing that we can do to earn our salvation. It comes by faith in Jesus Christ alone1. He was murdered by crucifixion on a cross2, was buried3, rose from the dead4, ascended into heaven5, and is seated at the right hand of the Father6. He alone is the propitiation for our sins, and to those who put their faith in Him are guaranteed salvation and eternal life7.

1Romans 3:22-24   2Matthew 27:35-50, Luke 23:44-46, Romans 5:8   3Luke 23:50-55   4Matthew 28:5-10, Luke 24:1-8   5Luke 24:50-51   6Acts 1:1-11, Hebrews 1:3   7Romans 8:1, Acts 4:12

Scripture

The entirety of scripture is inspired by God, written by man, and is infallible and truthful in the original writings. It is the key source for Christians to learn about the life of Christ and God’s will for His people.

Depravity of Man

Man was created in the image of God, to walk intimately with Him and to delight in Him. By sinning, man became separated from God, and sinful from birth. No one is inherently good, and cannot enter into eternal life based on their own merit. God’s plan for our redemption was and is through sending His son to die in our place for our sins.

Calling as Christians

Above all, to know the Lord, growing in our relationship and intimacy with Him. Along with this, to give glory to God through our life and the way that we stand as a light for Christ. We are called by Jesus to spread the gospel throughout the world. We are also encouraged to love others because of the love that Christ showed us, and to bathe our lives in prayer and thanksgiving to the Lord.
